Just pulled off 37.1 MPG on my last tank, which happens to be my highest calculated MPG to-date. I've been running premium in my car as well for the last several tanks.

First real road trip with the Focus, following 80-100 miles of commuting on the same tank.
1289.6 miles on the odometer at the conclusion of the tank 426 miles on 11.4 gallons of fuel Trip 1 calculated 37.8 mpg Hand calculated 37.4 mpg Fuel was just regular E10 87 octane as iirc that's pretty much all that's available around here (i.e. no E0 anything, at least not commonly available) That was with the a/c on most of the time set to near its coldest setting and traveling to Ohio and back, prior to traveling to the western part of Michigan for a Conference, and then back to the same pump as the previous 2-3 fill ups. That's the highest sustained mpg I've seen to date, but at the same time most of my commuting is done less than 20 miles per day round trip, as compared to doing 100+ miles at a time like I used to while in university. |

I'm currently running my best tank ever. 12,400 miles I'm averaging 39.2 mpg over 300 miles. This according to the computer. The fuel gauge is also sitting at half full. Also according to the computer I'm looking at just over 500 miles on the tank. I'm guessing that will end up about 480 by the time I fill up.

Had been getting about 38.6 MPG with he A/C on for the first 120 miles. Then I turned off the A/C and reset the MPG meter. Went another 30 miles to let the MPG level out and it stabilized up at 39.5. Not even a full MPG. I expect there is a bigger difference in city driving with multiple loads in play but on on a hwy cruise, A/C appears to be a pretty small penalty. Also, did your extra car-pool passenger also just start riding? What do they weight? Don't answer that, but you might want to consider it in the MPG equation. |

Yeah I just started my carpool. He probably weighs 160 lbs soaking wet. I'd be pretty disappointed if that caused mileage to plummet 2 mpg. |

went to houston a few months back and on the way over there i got about 40 mpg. on the way back i got 44mpg. i have the "automatic" both to and from i was mostly going about 65 with certain points going 75 since thats the speed limit at some points. was amazed to actually get that high. Have a trip to dallas coming up on the first of july so i want to see if the recent flash to the tranny and such has made any big differences in mileage. either way im a happy camper.

Tank number 2 on this car, 37.2 mpg. Car rolled over 1100 miles yesterday. It's better than the first tank by a little, maybe I can do better on this one, I need to avoid city driving as much as possible, I want to hit that 40 mpg or better mark. I need to figure out some ways to make the car more efficient.
