Let's say you could expect 35mpg at 70mph. If you were driving a constant 70mph you could get less than 30mpg and maybe as high as 40mpg just depending on the wind speed and direction. What kind of tires do you have (size)? the 18's with 235/40 will tend to get 2 or more mpg less than the 17's 215/50.

Now lets say you put 9 gallons of gas in the tank but the difference between this fill and the last was half a gallon -- that would result in a calculation error of about 2mpg.

So many variables ... so many variables...

Last week trip from Naples to NC border ... 10 hours averaged ~71 mph ... 34.6 mpg.
just about the same milage as 6 months ago ... The roads down south are great ... traffic will move at 75 especially when you hit the road at 4am.

95 for north of Jacksonville to the VA/NC border is usually a piece of cake, it's from Petersburg north that s*cks! 15 years ago Richmond was not much of a problem, but now a days it's not too much fun from 6AM to 8PM...

The real h*ll h*le is DC north through NY and beyond...

finishing my 2nd fill-up since I got my Ti Hatch 2012 (17in tires)...

first tank (70city-30highway) 21.3mpg
second tank (same ratio) 23.6mpg

hoping this will get better with 3rd fill-up!

Unless you are an unbridled lead foot I have to believe you've made a conversion error from km/miles L/gal. On you last (2nd) tank, what was the km at the beginning and end of the tank? How many liters to fill it?

perhaps I've used the wrong conversion tools ...

but, my 1st fill up averaged at 11.0L/100km while I'm now almost on empty, and my counter (which was reset at 2nd fill up) is now showing 10.1L/100km.

Normal driving behavior - lots of stop & go in the city, but also a combination of 100-110km/h on the highway. Eco shows all leaves for anticipation & speed.

OK, you're relying on the displayed mpg -- to better understand your mileage you should do a few tanks worth of manual calculations to confirm the cars display. If that is your actual mileage I'd say there has to be a problem because 21mpg is just not a reasonable number for 100% city driving unless you spend hours idling.

So, record the km's at each fill up as well as the liters of gas and do that for at least 3 tanks to even out variations in tank filling. I would think the worst case would be more like 25mpg, again, unless you spend hours idling...

ALL city, 300 ish miles, only 27 MPG. Meh, but it's still WAY better than 12 on premium, right?

27mpg in 100% city driving is about right, could be a bit higher or lower depending on how bad the traffic and the amount of idling.
