What do you mean? Your pic in your "greetings" thread shows you're getting 13.9km/L = 32.7 mpg! You're already way ahead! That said, you can get as good as 4.8-5.0L/100km or ~20km/L if you baby the car at 100km/h.

My niece used to live in Aliso Viejo and now lives in Costa Mesa so I know what you have to deal with out there. You are definitively having to deal with the worst driving conditions in the USA so poor mileage is hard to avoid. Do some testing at 3AM and see if that helps things. I love CA but hate driving there...

No, not windy. I haven't touched the tires since I bought it, but if they ever went low enough to affect MPGs the TPMS would surely come on. The road is slightly hilly in a few places, but total elevation changes are <100ft

The car currently has 6400 miles.

What I don't understand is that every other car I take on the same road, same commute, same everything I can manage to wring out better-than-estimated mileage. For example:

'91 525i rated at 15/23, I get 24mpg consistently
'92 325i w/3.5L should be right around 14/20, I get 24
'09 Impreza rated at 20/26, I get 28
'12 Focus rated at 27/37, I get 32.....

I find it hard to believe that after putting dozens of tanks of gas through all 4 of these cars over several years it could have anything to do with environmental or situational factors.

I've discovered a a difference of 2l/100kms between two different gas station chains. The smaller one is giving me much better fuel economy. Same fuel grades selected.

First 2 tanks of gas have yielded 33.9 MPG average. Car has ~700 miles on it now. I have a 50/50 commute.

Sorry for the blurry pic.

Thats with a spectra filter, 17x7.5 rims, 235x40 tires (back set at -2 camber), coilovers, and my rear diffuser and front pan.
What rims came with your car? I've been thinking of getting lightweight aftermarket rims, but I don't know how much the 17" painted rims that came with my car weigh.
I got better gas mileage and had better acceleration when I was sporting my lighter 15" winter Steelies.

I had the 16" steelies with hub caps. I'm pretty sure my 17"s weigh more than my stocks.

Thumbs up

I recently experimented with a tank of 93 octane... 44 hwy and 40 combined.

It all depends on how I drive, weather, fuel quality, etc. But, these are normal for me. At 3000+ miles and just changed to full synthetic oil which appears to have helped quite a bit. Also, my intake mods have helped a little to quell some of the usage from my aggressive driving style...
