Me either.... Ours is a 2012 SEL luxury pkg with a late build date of 3/19/12 so it should have all the updates. After just breaking the 1000 mile mark the average was 27.5 this morning. Everything about the car is great, but was expecting low-mid 30mpg range as we drive 70/30 hwy/city daily. Still beats the 13mpg we got on the Toyota FJ Cruiser by a long shot, but would like a few more mpgs.

I have a '12 SEL (manufactured in January). I typically reset my avg fuel on my way home from work which is about 30 kilometers of straight road. I set my cruise control at 90km/h (55 mph) and I often see 40+ MPG untill I start hitting traffic. This morning I saw 44 before I had to slow down for a slower vehicle.

Here's my latest graph showing the 7 fill ups since new. You can see that on average mileage has increased maybe 2-3 mpg. About 2600 miles on it now.

Thumbs up

City= 29-33 mpg

Combined/ Rural= 34-37 mpg

Pure Higway= 37-42 mpg

It all depends on how I drive, weather, fuel quality, etc. But, these are normal for me. At 3000+ miles and just changed to full synthetic oil which appears to have helped quite a bit. Also, my intake mods have helped a little to quell some of the usage from my aggressive driving style...

Don't trust the computer to figure it for you. Fill it up, reset your trip odometer, drive it, then fill it up the same way as before at the same pump, check the gallons used to your mileage. You will be suprised. Sometimes my computer is dead on, but other times It is way off. Weird.

I've only had two fill-ups (and now at 900 miles), but it looks good so far with my SEL. I estimate that I get about 44MPG at 65MPH and around 27--29MPG around the city.

The first tank, driven very aggressively, was around 30MPG (although since I didn't fill it up, it's not terribly reliable). The second tank averaged 37.6MPG.

It's looking like I'll hit 430 miles on the latest tank.

I find that I have to be careful with the pedal if I want to maintain fuel economy (based on feedback from the computer). If I press the pedal down, it seems to gladly drink gasoline to make sure I'm having fun.

I only get roughly 300 miles and put 11 gal back in. That's only 27mpg. Hope this jumps up as the car continues to break in.

30.8 MPG first tank, combined driving.

Second tank, I was at 34.8 to 35.2 for around 200 miles then I had some bouts of enthusiastic driving hit and now it's down to 33.5 MPG. First tank was calculated by actual miles driven divided by gallons used, the display actually gave me a slightly worse number. The second tank I'm going by the display alone until I fill up again.

I have the 6 speed power shift option, they are telling me that is part of the low milage at least until it's broken in. I see all these threads where people are getting mid 30s from the start, starting to feel like maybe I have the "one-in-a-million" thats gonna suck on gas lol. I passed up a good deal on a Jetta TDI to stay with American built, hope it wasn't a mistake. My commute to work is a total of 203 miles so good mileage is an absolute must-have!!........Love the ride and handling!!

I am on my second tank of gas with my SEL, I am currently getting 34-35mpg, I also have a long commute (140 miles round trip highway miles) and hope my mileage goes up closer to 40mpg.
