I'm up to right at 2,000 miles on my SE hatch and my average MPG is up to 28.1 without really trying. I'm not that worried about mileage so I don't drive to maximize gas mileage, I drive like I enjoy driving. After getting 17 in our Jeep Liberty and around 21 in the Kia that I traded in on the FoFo, anything over 26 is great, if I can keep it at 28 - 29 I will be ecstatic!

First tank since purchase was 35.7 hand-calculated. I'm on my second tank and the trip says 40.5 so far...

I agree! Not so much along the lines of driving like a mad man (although, I do accelerate quickly all the time) - But I know my gas mileage drops when I drive with all my windows down, but it’s just too damn nice out to not drive with the windows down and the sunroof open. I’d gladly sacrifice a couple mpg for that.

Yeah, I hate driving with the windows up, but I'm going for max mpg's. You should be fine driving with them down and no mpg penalty at speeds under 55mph.

averaging about 31... less than expected for this car, but way better than the 22 I was getting on my Mazda3.

Averaging 32mpg with a 50/50 commute. I'm very happy so far.
My best tank so far was:

All highway, lots of coasting/cruise control and staying within the speed limit.
I got over 400 miles out of the tank with a DTE of 12.

33.2 MPG. I calculated that after filling it up today (from half tank). A little over a half tank only cost me $24. Would have cost me $40 in my Grand Prix........ seriously.
