Avg is 31mpg. Good 50/50 mix of traffic and highway cruising. I seem to be heavier on the gas on nice days with windows down so my mileage won't go up on the highway much at all. Highest avg I've seen in 1300 miles has been 33.4mpg. I'm happy with its economy giving my driving habits and conditions.

I really wish I could get up to the 30's that some of you get. I'm assuming it's because of the type of driving I'm doing. I hit that 27.8 mark on a 18 mile drive on the parkway doing about 45 - 50 mph. I really want to see the higher mpg but maybe with my driving habits it just won't happen. Any ideas?

To make sure it's your driving routine and not your car, try resetting the mpg meter when driving around 65 on a level highway when there isn't much wind. If you average 36 mpg or better I would say your car is fine. At a constant 45 - 50, I think you should be at 40+. Naturally stop lights and the like will destroy mileage quickly.

If you think it's the car, try checking tire pressure and feeling each of the wheels after a longish drive: if one is noticeably hotter than the others you could have a sticking brake pad (though this is pretty unlikely on a new car). I suppose fuel could also contribute as some have found premium produces better mileage than regular.

I have been averaging 37 - 38 mpg on the highway (65 - 70 mph). I have just over 8,000 miles so far. 2012 S model sedan with standard trans.

I wonder if the refineries recently switched back to a summer blend gasoline, because my mileage has gone up to 37-39mpg (from 34-36) over the last couple weeks.

Just got 36mpg on my last tank of reg gas with snow tires. Not sure if I'll see an improvement with the 18" for the summer.

Filled up for the second time today, with 600+ miles on the car. Mileage was 31.2 calculated and indicated. 7 miles each way commute; about half of that is 45-55mph with 4 stoplights, the rest is 25-35 mph with 8 stoplights and a 4-way stop. Very happy so far, it has the old Matrix beat by 2 or 3 mpg.

The best I ever got was 30.1mpg (mostly city). I was shifting early, driving slow, coasting down hills, accelerating with care and so on. I HATED DRIVING!! not worth it to me. Little old ladies would pass me on the road and give me the finger. Now I just drive how I want and I average around 25.4mpg. I enjoy driving 100x more, and I love the car 100x more.

Mostly highway, (we live in the country), but not long trips: 33-35 mpg. Standard transmission.
