Has anyone notice to the huge difference between the DTE in test mode and Trip 1 or 2
I was playing around in test mode today and noticed this.
Can it be total miles for current tank?

I reset the mpg on trip 1 after every fill up but I have left Trip 2 alone since I picked it up. On both it says 250 but I'm averaging 26.5 on #2 and 32.1 on #1

One thing about this car that I've noticed is that it is such a primadonna when it comes to gas mileage.

If it's anything but sunny, i.e. Below 60F, Raining (even lightly), windy, you're not going to get over 40mpg.

If you drive over 65mph, you're not going to get over 40mpg.
If you use fuel that contains ethanol, you're not going to get over 40mpg

It's a lot like that princess from the fairy tale that slept on 40 mattresses but still could feel the 1 pea lodged between one of them. But really, it's still a pretty good lay ;)

So far, mix of small city driving (short commutes) and highway after 1000 km of driving I have a lifetime average of 26.7mpg. The highway cruising is at 75mph and actually got 30-31mpg while on the highway, its just the city driving that is complete failsauce.

I have been running premium though. Maybe I need to switch?

Dude, don't waste your money on premium (91 octane) gas - especially up here in Canada - what are you paying $1.47/L (5.88/gallon)??

I've got winter tires on, reg. 5W20 oil now, 87 octane gas from Pioneer Gas (does better than Petro-Can for some reason), and driving 65mph (105km/h) I got 44MPG on my 20 min. hwy commute here in Ottawa this morning (I usually see a co-worker of mine zip past me at 125 km/h at the beginning and then I end up in the parking lot 30 secs. after him when I get to work after 20 min. - no point speeding apart from the fun factor :) ).

Around town with some freeway, my wife and I have been averaging around 25 MPG. Not as good as I was hoping. Hopefully it will improve when we get warmer weather. I'm in Rochester, MN. bSEL w/o SFE package.

1.25/L for premium, 1.15/L for regular. As for the doing 125 on the highway....in Alberta 125km/hr is sometimes the slowest guy on the highway!!

Does anyone notice an actual difference in performance between regular and premium? The owners manual states there is an improvement which is why I've been filling with premium and never really gave the price difference much thought since my other vehicle is a truck that is lucky to get 10mpg on a good day (I keep a 1L bottle of gasoline in that truck just for priming the carb!)

Dunka, it's the same distance. Test mode gives you the Distance to E in kilometers.
