New member here, been lurking for a while :). Bought a 2012 Focus SE about a month ago. My girlfriend uses it for a daily commute of around 120KM(75mi) each way so we're already up to almost 5,200KM!
We average around 6.0L/100KM(39mpg) with about 99% highway driving doing about 120km/h(75mph). With some city driving we're usually hovering around 6.8-7.0L/100km(35-33mpg), still very good. I was able to squeeze out 5.4L/KM(44mpg) on a test trip of about 200km doing 100km/h once, but I wanted to kill myself the whole time, so realistically I'd say the focus averages about 39mpg highway, which is awesome! Also, a pet peeve with Canadian dealerships: STOP USING IMPERIAL GALLONS. It's horribly inaccurate and gives absolutely ridiculous numbers on the window spec sheets. I've found my mileage to be almost bang on to what they say in terms of L/100km, so they didn't have to fudge the numbers for me to be happy! |

1800 miles, 34.5 (mpg U.S.) combined. 400 miles a week on highway and a lot of local driving in city traffic.

Over The last 420 miles I averaged 40mpg. For the last tank, I just drove to and from work, 95% highway driving, with cruise set to 63mph, and got 45.7 mpg on fuelly.
http://www.fuelly.com/driver/kupp/focus I have just over 2100 miles on the car.

I drove from Ohio to Missouri on the interstate yesterday and got 40MPG for the trip.
In construction zones, where I was doing 40-50 MPH, I was getting about 42MPG; then that would drop after it picked back up to 70-75 MPH. 5 speed manual transmission. No cruise control. The trip was 400 miles long. No fill-ups. |

So.. 39.6MPG was the best I could do but I only got a pic at 39.1MPG -- but that was using Canadian 87 octane gas ("up to" 10% ethanol), driving on a very slight but still significant average downhill grade, following a tractor trailer at 10ft doing 100km/h. Heheh.

Sadly
tank 1 - 21.7mpg Tank 2 - 23.7mpg (took it easy, mostly hwy, got full pedals on eco Tank 3 - 18.7 :( mostly around town. Pretty dissapointed actually, my fiesta was also a stick with the same sticker rating and the worst I ever got was 28. And yes I calculate mileage, and don't use the readout.

Got 39.3 on the most recent tank, more mixed driving, more varying of speed, more representative of what I think is normal for me.
With a current overall average of 39.7 http://www.fuelly.com/driver/kupp/focus
