Only my third full tank of gas, but today I drove from Portland, OR to Sacramento, CA averaging from 70-75 with mostly cruise. Lots of flat spots, but I also went over the hilly pass near Mt. Shasta. The car computer said I only got 34 mpg but when I figured it manually I came up with 37.6. Not too shabby!

In the city when I calculate manually the computer has been under 1 mpg and over 1 mpg thus far, just FYI.

I don't have answers for you since I have only had my car for a day. But...one thing I have noticed is that while I am sitting there letting allowing people to admire my car, and all the cool gadgets. While the car is stilling idle - it is burning gas and I immediately see an impact on my milage. This may not be a factor for you anymore. But given my milage is so low, this sitting idle to show off my new baby is impacting my mpg's.

I've only had my car a couple of days.
Delivery day, I drove about 45 miles home (the long way), the computer reported 36.6 average.
Driving to work the next morning (30 miles), 37.8.
Driving home that day, 35.6

Much better than the 18-19 in my truck !

My computer seems to be a little low too. For anyone with an iPhone (might be available on Android too, I'm not sure) there's a nice app called Gas Cubby that will track and chart your MPG's along with a lot of other info.

Just wondering: Did you happen to notice if you had the grill shutters?

^^ of course, then I had to stop at a light for about 7 minutes. Then it went back down to around 36.7 for the rest of the way home.

Low 30's with 600 miles of fairly aggressive mixed driving.

When checking the fuel economy manually, you have to remember that "empty" is not really empty, and does not take the reserve tank into account. When the light comes on, I still have a fair bit until empty, and when I fill up, it generally only takes between 10 and 10.5 gallons to fill up. So, if you are consistent with "how far until empty" between fill-ups, you need to take "how many gallons did I put in" as your measurement, not the 12.4 gallons in a tank that the car is supposed to hold.
