Just got back from a trip to Loganville GA from West Palm beach. 1582 miles with a hand calculated 38.6. GPS had average moving speed at 71.5mph. Tires inflated to 38psi. Lots of construction. Speed was up and down 60-85. But now I have 3 chips on my hood from a truck kicking up rocks and I could not get around him fast enough in the construction zone.

Titanium with only 350 miles on it. My miles have been about 80% city with a 23.5 mph average. Hand calculated at 26.6.

The 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis that I am driving, while my 2012 Focus is electrically disabled, is getting 22.3 MPG. Pather Power!

The government doesn't test every combination of options on every car, they test the most popular (highest projected sales) and leave the minor adjustments to the manufacturer. Due to the increased unsprung weight and higher rolling resistance, I'm sure the bigger wheels get slightly worse fuel economy.

I have a base SEL with the 17-inch wheel option. I'm at 1800 miles and averaging about 28mpg.

SE hatch, all city, stop and go, 1400 odom, 23mpg, hoping it picks up a couple mpg's after a few more miles.

It's our first "american" car since my original 68 mustang, been toyota ever since.
First time Ford turned our heads by actually having a small car that appealed to us

Good numbers! Sorry about the chips. I am not looking forward to my first road trip because if that very concern. I have never been a fan of bras and bug defectors but I might look for something that I can just throw on for long road trips. Any suggestions out there since I'm not finding much yet (2012's are obviously just out).
