Here's my fuelly after over 3 months of ownership:





There is an overall trend upwards, though I'm still a bit disappointed. However, the car does respond well to conscious efforts to improve mileage, which I've been too impatient to do as of late.

Question

Okay, I really should be able to figure this out on my own, but my brain is tired and it's late Friday afternoon.

At 292.6 on the trip meter, I added 2.05 gallons. I did not reset the trip miles meter, though I did reset the trip's MPG meter.

At 326.6 on the trip meter, I then filled up the tank, adding 9.129 gallons. The trip's MPG meter, I think, read something like 22 MPG.

What is my approximate MPG for the 326.6 miles? Sorry for being so **tarded.

326.6 miles/ 11.179 gallons =29.22 mpg Just add the total gallons and divide the total number of miles by that figure and it gives your average for the whole tank.

We've owned ours for 6 months/20k miles. The mileage continues to climb...but it's not what we were hoping it would get (high 30's).

There is no tunes on the market yet and they have no ETA fthem either.

No one currently is tuning this car in North America. SCT said they could read and write to the computer but they couldn't be arsed to do the r&d because they say that no one will buy it. Apparently they feel that there is a smaller market for the higher volume N/A GDI 2.0L at 12:1 compression and begging to be tweaked vs the 9.3:1 compression direct injection turbocharged ST. The ST is prospected to sell 8-10k units, and is considered a viable candidate for tuning as they all cracked the PCM within a month of the ST's launch after waiting 18+ months with the N/A Focus and saying screw those guys.

I have 950 miles on mine, the in dash thing says 29.2 mpg. My last fill up, first one with a reset trip odometer, was 299.5 miles with 9.056 gallons, so 33 MPG. Not bad, better than my Explorer at 16.5 MPG.

around 28 with pretty aggressive and fast driving. 31 if im more easygoing. And I wouldnt give a crap if it were worse, because that real world gas mileage is without really even trying. According to Mr. Owners Manual

"Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early. Do not labor the engine."

Well so much for that happy thought. I know in the PowerStroke world...one of the first things you do if you want to improve the performance/efficiency of the truck is tune it. Though I'm still running the Ford/Navistar factory tuning from 6 years ago (there have been several "updates" since then) and I'm apparently getting better mileage than most F250 of the same vintage...averaging 18.3 mpg . Is there that much difference in the engines between the years of the NA 2.0L that there couldn't be some "cross tuning" between year models? Like I said in a different thread, the Focus world is a new adventure to me...been a truck guy most of my life.
