My '12 has really settled in on MPG at a hwy cruise this summer. I can set the speed at up to 70 MPH and get 40 MPG.
One trip last week got me 42.9 MPG, my best number yet for an extended trip (335 miles).

I'm sure you're all pros when it comes to fuel efficiency, but just in case you want some pointers on how to maximize your fuel economy, check this out: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conten...=1239636411265

*sigh* My MPG has took a hit ever since I started driving more city. I used to average 37 MPG driving 80% highway and now I'm averaging more like 30 MPG driving mostly city. I moved back to the inner city and I have been driving less leading to a huge decrease in MPG's overall. This is why it's good to drive your car at a constant speed because stop and go driving on city streets will really affect your MPG numbers.

I just returned from a nearly week long trip to Yellowstone and have some interesting mileage numbers from the trip. I should start by saying that before the trip I had a little over 8150 miles on it and had a cumulative average of just about 37mpg.

OK, I drive up from SLC and fill up the tank just before entering the park at West Yellowstone. Inside the park the max speed limit is 45mph but there are places marked 35mph and 25mph and there are numerous stops due to folks scoping out wildlife. I filled the tank 3 times for a total of 1334 miles and used 30.06 gallons for a net average over that distance of 44.4mpg. I should mention that about 1/3 of the last tank was outside of the park today as I was leaving and the speeds there were more like 50-55mph average versus 40ish mph in the park.

After this trip my cumulative average is now 37.65mpg for 9766 miles.

I have the Super Fuel Economy package and my gas mileage has been the best of any car I've owned. 325 mile trip with avg speed 65 to 70 and received 45mpg. Most of my driving is combined city/highway with more miles per tank on the highway and avg. 34mpg. If my combined city/highway driving has more miles with city driving the mileage drops to 30 to 31 mpg. I reset the trip with every fill up. Not bad I would say.

Hmm . . . can't decide if I should stick with 4.2 mile commuter route that is 100% pretty bad city driving or try 6.1 mile route that is about 50% highway.

What a first world problem here.

Have a 12 SE w/ sport pkg and 5spd and 3200 miles. Haven't done any real highway driving, but with moderate city driving (45-50mph stretches, light traffic, but lots of stop lights/signs) I can barely managed 24mpg. I have managed to see 28 or so if I drive very gently and shift exactly when it tells me to (which IMO is too early). If I want to have any fun in the car, I can expect that to drop closer to 20mpg.

I did get 46-48mpg on a stretch of road thats about 10 miles.. think I hit maybe one light, going 45-50 mph. That quickly dropped as soon as I hit inner city though.

The Mk3 FF get excellent mileage UNLESS you do stop-and-go driving and then the mileage drops off the table. All cars suffer in stop-and-go but the Mk3 FF really takes a dive. It's not the speed it's the staring/stopping and idling at lights that really kill the mileage.

12 focus SEL automatic, i have been averaging about 31 mpg i live in SOcal and drive on 405 everyday. I try to avoid traffic as best i can, but end up prob about 35% city and rest frwy. 405 can be trafficy but i am happy so far with the milage. I have not gone on any long trips yet. I only have about 1300 miles on the car so far. Hopefully it improves more! i will be putting on a magnaflow exhaust system as well.
