I wish I could number like that. Best I can get with 80% highway/20% city is 7.4l/100km with 8k on the odometer. Since my 2008 Fusion was getting 10.4, I was expecting better numbers.

Unhappy Getting only 22 to 24 MPG --- Sticker says 30-40

I WANT to love my car... she's a beautiful 2012 Focus Hatchback SE. But 24 MPG??? Sticker said 28/38 MPG.

I have all my gallon amounts and the mileage at each fill-up (and the mileage computer appears quite accurate except it starts out quite high whenever I reset it -- I think they do that so it shows high on a test drive? That 37 on my test drive sold me).

Car started out getting 22.4 and is now getting 23.9, at 1300 miles. About 65% of the miles driven are highway. The weather is almost always in the 70s here on San Diego coast so A/C isn't really used. I use it conservatively when I do go inland (and my mileage has improved slightly as the summer has warmed up, so it's not A/C). I keep my green leaves high and have always been one to drive in a fuel conserving manner. San Diego is slightly hilly. Are all these high mileages from flatlanders?

I'm not getting much of a rise out my dealer. They told me earlier about filing a mileage grievance, and told me to wait until after 1,000 miles, but now they seem to have forgotten that it exists.

There's got to be something I/they can do? I see almost everyone here getting nicely over 30, with a couple of exceptions. Fuelly puts the car at average 29. I'd be happy with that.

Just went about 600 miles this weekend, went to Seattle and back with a 2000ft elevation difference between the two cities. I was going about 75 for 1/3 of the drive and 70 the other 2/3's. I averaged 32.8 MPG on the whole trip with AC running the entire way with the temperature outside at about 88-95 the whole way. I am running 92 octane from only chevron. I am pretty pleased with my result, much better than my old jeep.

I just had my first 40 mpg tank.... 40.13 mpg to be exact. I've got a three tank average of 38.74 mpg and my lifetime mpg is currently at 35.05. Overall, I've quite happy with my fuel economy numbers and they just keep getting better with time.

Hills are a pretty major factor in my experience but your numbers seem unusually bad for that much hwy driving. I always recommend starting with this test: See if you can find a relatively flat stretch of road where you can set the cruise at 55 and and reset the MPG meter and cruise for 5-10 min. It should steadily climb to the upper 30's if not near 40. If you cannot get this number with this simple controlled test, there is probably something wrong. I was getting bad numbers for the first 1000 but steadily improved after that.

Mine's topped out at 27.1, but not really surprising considering how often I step on it hard to get around all the slowpokes, and it only has 900 miles on it.
