just got my best mpg's ever since I got my Ti Hatch (April 2012). Drove from Montreal to NYC - through the Adirondacks (lots of mountains and some flat highway miles as well). I got 38mpg, I was hoping to reach the 40's, but I guess that's the best I'll get with Canadian gas (Reg Oct 87). Used cruise control clocked at 67mph almost all the way through.

Can't wait to see the return trip with american gas... I always got better mileage with american gas with my old SUV. Will see if this still holds true with this one!

As for me driving 100 KPH, well, I usually drive between 110 and 120 KPH on the highway and I dont get mad if someone is slower...that's behind me aswell (I'm going to hit 50 soon ) I drove 100KPH for testinf purpose only. Lets just stay on topic. OP, Sorry about starting a controversy here.
Comming back from work today in downtown trafic, I got 7.3L/100Km or 32 MPG. 2 man on board, minimun AC not much bumper to bumper action. These numbers are pretty much identical to the ones I had this winter before my tranny issues. I'm keeping my finger crossed.

I just hit 30mpg today. It keeps climbing up; I'll be disappointed when it plateaus. I drive all back roads to work. Winding, bumpy, amish-country roads with constant speed changes (even worse now during tourist season). My car isnt even broken in yet, so i'll be thrilled if i can get ~35mpg on my daily commute.

Our recent vacation trip:

Trying to hit 40 mpg on the highway stretch, I reset the counter at fill-up and drove an hour on the 55-60 mph roads. Hit 39.5 mpg!

On the way home, reset the counter, drove on the 70-75 mph roads, and could only get to 36 mpg.

How many miles on the odometer? What wheels? A/C usage?

Your numbers are solid but honestly I would have expected higher. Especially if you're driving the automatic.

I'm only @ 2000 miles on the odometer. 17" wheels and the A/C was on, also with a packed car (4 people & luggage).

Ahhh ok cool, your numbers are really good then IMO. All that stuff combined probably costs you 4-5 mpg. Looks good! With A/C off, just you in the car, you probably get something like 42-43 at 55-60 mph in the automatic. Love this car. :)

This weekend was just nuts for me on the MPG wars. I have struggled to get near 40 over a considerable distance (no cheating such as downhill runs or strong tailwinds, etc.) So, did an 80 mile drive (each way) - Toledo, OH to Angola Indiana, flat-lands, light winds, 85 degrees and took the 2-lane state route which pretty much guarantees between 55-60 MPH. A/C on. Results (I reset trip2 before beginning the trip back):

Trip out: 39.1 MPG
Return trip: 43.7 MPG (40.5 MPG total trip on trip 1)

No frigging idea why the trip back shattered any previous numbers. At 10K miles, I guess its fully broken in, got the Mobile 1 synthetic in there now and and summer gas.. I guess. AND, I picked up a case of Fat Tire (one of my favorite brews that isn't available in Ohio). So, all in all a successful trip..

So I did my trip from Montreal to NYC. Here are my results

Car odo is now at 2360 miles with this trip. Driving Ti Hatch, no handling package. AC was on all the time for both trips, low winds and temp average in the 80's. No passenger. Cruise control on set at about 68mph.

Mtl - NYC (with Canadian Oct 87 gas, 10% Ethanol) = 35.1mpg
NYC- Mtl (with American Oct 87 gas, 10% Ethanol) = 38.6mpg

I was realllllly hoping to get somewhere in the 40's, but it's still decent. The only thing that I can think of is that the I87 is going through the Adirondacks with lots of mountain. In fact, when going up hills, I could see my MPG increase and once back on flat surface, it was going down.

Hopefully MPG will still get better as I get more mileage with this car.
