Newbie...to 3rd gen

Just wanted to drop into the 3rd gen area and say hello.

I am the proud owner of a new 2013 SE Hatchback (w/Winter package), 5 - speed, Sterling Gray Metallic.

I had originally come back to the Focus arena 2 months ago with a 2010 SE, but due to non-stop issues and some fantastic customer service at my dealership I am now a new car owner!

Congrats! I lived in Middleton, WI for almost 5 years! It's the suburbs of Madison. I love Wisconsin and the people and food are great! Also I loved the snow!

LMAO - Oddly, I still wish I had my Pinto; if only for nostalgic purposes. Unfortunately, I sold it almost 20 years ago.

Truly, the heritage of the small Ford cars was Pinto > Escort > Focus...so I guess I still drive a Pinto in some ways!

My first car was a '78 Pinto that very well could have been driven straight off the set of Charlies Angels. Even though I was not a fan at the time, I oddly miss it as well...

Brought the new car in so they could install the Block Heater today. Oddly, the window sticker said it came as standard equipment, yet the actual part was rolling around my hatch in a plastic bag.

When I asked why it was not already installed, they said "no one uses them anymore". Ok, then why make it an option?? If no one used it, seems like Ford could save themselves a butt load of money not including them.

Anyhow, dealership said the would do free install (if it was listed on the window sticker, which it was). I live in WI where there is a good chance I will use it - therefore figured I would take them up on the free install! Does everyone who buys a new Focus get this option? Is it just a Winter Package thing?

No it's not a winter package thing, it's more of a fleet level order option. Afaik it's a $25 dollar stand alone option when the car is ordered by the dealer. It's not included on the majority of cars becasue most dealers don't order cars with this small option.
