It would cost too much to trade in the car for an ST, but slowly over time I could convert the car the way I wanted. I already own my 2012, so it would be unwise to trade it in for a large loss.

Had I waited for a 2013 I'd probably have had to have ordered an ST as they screwed up the order guide and options matrix as well as removing my choice of color.
wow, that looks absolutely incredible! That is my favourite colour. Is your car a 5 speed or DCT?

DCT, and so far to knock on wood despite a few bumps and scrapes on previous bumper cover(s) I haven't really had any issues with the gearbox that weren't caused by operator error (i.e. if flooring the accelerator at low speed and then slamming on the brakes in quick succession, which has happened maybe once when I was ticked off and floored the throttle and then slammed back on the brakes. Otherwise I don't even think I'd ever experienced any shuddering or really any poor shifts that other people commonly complain about.

Great to hear, though dont you think that the DCT may not be able to handle the horsepower of the ST's engine if you decide to drop the engine into your car?

If the ST engine goes in so too would the 6 speed manual and the engine computer more than likely. That or I'd have to import the wet clutch version of the Ford Getrag DCT as this has a higher torque capacity, or the awful 6F35 if taking an engine from the Escape or Fusion instead which both have the same basic 2.0 L GTDI engine. It probably wouldn't happen before 100,000 miles at this point if I keep the warranty on the car.

The dry clutch DCT is only rated for 250-280 Nm of torque (around 170-180 lb-ft) at the input shaft of the transmission, so it would more than likely not be able to handle the 270 lb-ft of torque from the EcoBoost engine.

I love these wheels. They're seriously some of the best OE wheels I've ever come across. I think only some of the Volvo-branded OZ wheels and BMW M-Sport wheels look better, for OE.

I kinda wish the FR-S/BRZ's OE wheels fit our car, they're similar.

Are those the 16 inch wheels? If so how are you liking them? i'm thinking of buying some 16s with 5 spokes from a guy on craigslist. brand new tires 175$ takes them.

Yes, they are 16" wheels. I do like the ride comfort better than the 17" wheels on my last focus.
