Mine is a little bit less severe, the cover is just gouged at the moment, but it was damaged enough to need replacement to look 100%, so why not do it up properly and use 100% genuine parts as opposed to simply patching what's there and painting the "fangs" between the left center and right grilles?

If you know these cars you'd know that there never was an ST in either color, but so what, it looks more agressive, and personally I like the way it blends into the cutout of the hood better.

If people were this disparaging about the this why did they not hate on all the MK1 RS and SVT conversions? Its the same principle only newer.

The only people who would be fooled into thinking this is an ST are those that don't know STs well enough.

For real. Truth right there. I think the single most ridiculous comment I read was that--an ST owner said--he was 'ruining it for everyone' who had an actual St. What a g-damn sense of entitlement! I bet their lives are ruined that someone has the front end of their $25k car on their $20k car. Just....wow.

It's like the ST wing. I want one for my car. I'd never pass my car off as an ST (actually, I'd take it as a bit of an affront); it just looks flat-out better than the base part.

All this said though, I would like to see a filler someday, to take the place of the ST emblem. Ideal for conversions, and actual STs whose owners want to 'debadge'.

A debadged ST would look nuts. :O

I made a comment a few weeks ago to a friend, that if I ever happened to buy a Golf R (and this sort of applies to S Audis too), which is one of my candidates down the line, if someone stole my R (or S, or whatever, I hear it's really common and have seen a ton of unintentionally debadged Rs and Ss) badges, I'd almost be glad. Goin' deeper underground!

I know its your car by all means, do what you want to it, but expect people to talk crap about the ST badge. It's just like in the Mustang world when people slap Cobra emblems on a GT or V6. The bumper does look good though. But I for one like the regular bumper as well.

Considering how no one seems to talk trash about the MK1 SVT and RS clones I don't see the issue here.

If you're happy with your stock appearance and do not have any damage then leave it.
