2012 Ford Focus Euro Headlamp Availability

I have the projector lights in a 2011 Lexus 350. They are really not that good. My Focus (2012) has better high beams and the low beams reach farther than the Lexus.

So, in case anyone is curious the current cost to retro-fit a 2012/2013 Focus with the HIDs and LED DRLs would come to:

Sure, but I'm not sure if the forum allows it.

There are people who will open the OEM headlights, remove the halogen parts, install HID projectors and LED's and seal them back up. For example:

They mostly do Honda's, but ...

Yea but you could knockoff about $3500 by buying aftermarket HID's and ballasts.

F'K that, sorry HID's aren't that special or important to me. I would rather just have the Euro Black headlights. and they are a LOT cheaper then that. Still to pricey but cheaper

HIDs give better lighting, thats a downside for you?

And pay up cause the Titanium gets the black headlights. Or just open up your assemblies.

How is this complaining since anyone who buys these are getting RAPED. HIDS may give better lighting, but I think my lighting is just where I need it. Ti are the only US cars getting black lighting. Over seas more cars get them, so good thing I have some friends over there. and its not complaining anyways, its having an Opinion, hope that doesn't offend you.

You realize that NO BODY is buying these?

You know why HIDs tend to be cheap form OEM? Core return. You 'give back' the traditional units and get back the HID units. Hence, lower costs.

Do you think this is specific to Ford and their OEM parts? Not really. Hell, a quick browse gets a 1k a side price on BMW E90 housings, that doesn't include the bulbs ballasts or any control units. So yea, the fact that a new part costs that much isn't a shocker.

This will only change as 3rd parties get onboard with making assemblies and/or retrofit kits.


My other car has assemblies already for 450-600, for a pair, that are either good for just projector use or for HID or even full LED use, the LED ones ring a big higher at 800 or so. But thats because other parties have gotten crazy on that.

Yes they have, I can see it all coming down in the next few yrs, just gotta wait and see
