Automatic Transmission Grinding / seal leak too

I just replaced a split port engine in my 2002 Focus Wagon. The automatic transmission was working well before I switched engines. After three short trips down the road, the transmission went into neutral in all gears with a grinding noise until the car came to a stop on the shoulder of the highway. I got it towed back home. Let it sit over night then went out to start it. Everything fine. Backed up the Focus about twenty feet. Put it in drive to go forward and got grinding noise until the car came to a stop. I shut off the motor and came to this area to post this message. The transmission is not original, it was replace with the engine just before we bought it used. I state again it was working great before my split port engine stopped working.
All I found so far from my searches was the following which I copied this from another post,

I really think its narrowed down to one issue.

The clutch. I got mined replaced not too long ago. And have had many discussions with a Ford Rep.

All Ford Focus and Fiesta DCT Automatics are dry clutches. It is the seal that is the single point failure. The seal over time will leak transmission fluid into your dry clutch and spoil it causing the aforementioned issued. "FLUID LEAK ORIGINATING FROM OUTER INPUT SHAFT SEAL AS PER TSB"

The reason why it varies is that the seal could failure earlier or later and could leak just a little or alot of fluid. Hence some cars indriveable at 500km others at tens of thousands." - end of copied post.

I'm an amateur back-yard-mechanic (BYM) who has removed two Split Port engines and transmissions from two Focuss cars. 2001/2002 and made one used parts combination to put back in the 2002.
