just as a preview until tonite , i'll tell my method of how i did it. i took the vents out, removed the vent flaps in the middle (so i could mount the light directly in the middle) and sanded and spray painted the inside of the vents chrome. at first i thought i was going to be able to get away with leaving the open/close vent flaps in because there's a good amount of space to fit a little LED in, but once every thing was put together, the flaps interfered with the overall reflection, lighting up only one half of the vent, so i just took them out. and, my proudest achievement was mounting the rocker switch in place of the cigarette lighter, after i took out the metal sheath inside the green plastic (damn near impossible!!!) i fit like a dream, it looks stock installed! i dont smoke so i didnt really lose anything. also, i didnt have to do any difficult wiring, i just ran all the LED wires into the ground, load and power prongs on the back of cig lighter, it worked beautifully, and also, when my headlights are on, i can adjust the brightness of the LED's, its the same little wheel that adjusts your dome and speedometer lights! this project could have been done in a day easy, but with work and school and waiting for my dad to be around to help, it took a lot longer. also, i should note ahead of time, that yes, i know, two of the LED's aren't the exact same shade of blue as the other two. the packs that i bought (pilot automotive) came in 3 to a pack, so i had to buy two packs. after installing them i quickly saw that they didnt match perfectly so i bought another, and they were the same wrong shade. i guess i could make them all the other color, but the darker blue looks better. but now, i'm used to it and i like it just fine. so dont rag on me too bad
the pics will be up tonite, promise!
