Race Pedal Question

So I recently got into modding my Focus (2010 SES Automatic) and one of the things I was thinking of doing was getting new pedals for my car. I've been looking around a little bit, but all I can find for a 08+ Focus are Universal ones, which I've read aren't very good, since they are Universal. I was hoping to find something that is easy to install & isn't very expensive, but all suggestions are open. Also, if I did have to drill the pedal to secure the new ones, would that void my warranty?

Thanks in advance for the help!

- Chris

Hey chris, it is to my knowledge the only way you can void your warrenty is , I.e ( you install racing pedals , and by doing so you mess something.up in your car with the pedels and they can prove that it was caused by the pedals then yes it can void it. but you install the pedals and your air.conditionar goes bad and it wasnt caused by your pedals then you should still be covered.

Or another example if you install a cold air.intake and your transmission starts to fail not being caused by the intake you should be covered ,.but if.you suck is water to your engine causing hydrolock , then your.warrenty for that is gone.

Im not really sure if there are a set of "bolt in" racing pedals..

The closest things ive seen to racing pedals are the SVT pedals, but im not sure if those are compatible with the newer model foci.

Id say your best bet is to check out Autozone/Pepboys and find a set of pedals that work for you. Take some time and install them right, and they should be fine.

Now, those screw through the existing pedal apparently? I like the idea, it looks nice.

Thanks, I thought it worked that way, but wasn't too positive. I'm always so worried that I will void my warranty, I'm just paranoid I guess .

Yeah I kept seeing the SVT pedals and I figured they weren't compatible, plus I'm guessing they are for Manual and I drive Automatic . Thanks for the input!

They look nice!

They look like they would be compatible with the 2010 Focus. I measured out the pedals last night and got about:

Brake - 2 3/4H x 4W (inches)
Gas - 3 3/4H x 1 1/2W (inches)

I searched around on eBay and through Google for pedals that are compatible, but only found some universal ones that were different sizes than my pedals. Here are two that I found and liked (the blue ones kind of match my cars color):

They might actually have red/silver ones, I saw different color ones on eBay, but I figured the blue matches my car pretty well and would probably go with them.

My only worry is that they seem to be too large...do you think they would still fit?

I think the Blue would look nice but don't do a Blue overkill and paint a lot of stuff Blue . Although I've got a lot of Chrome and Brushed Aluminum in my cockpit . :)
