Myford vs Myford Touch

All,
I am looking on Ford's site at the new 2012 Focus. With the SE model you can get the Myford and Sync package which has myford driver connect technology and the SEL you can get the Myford Touch with 8" screen. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? (Other than larger screen and it being touch screen) Are the features/functionality the same? I have done internet searches and get lots of hits on the 'Touch', but, not the non touch model. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I'd go to your dealer in a week and test drive both. Honestly, I'd say you can probably access the same features, but it's probably much easier to do with the MyFord Touch setup. IMO, the MFT option is one that you shouldn't do without if you're buying a new Focus.

For another $800 you can get navigation on the 8" screen. But that's a separate option.

Here is the answer I received from one of Ford's Live Chat sessions with Gary Jablonski.

Question - Hello Gary, thanks for doing this chat..... what are the differences between MyFord technology and My Ford Touch, besides the obvious touch feature and screen size?

Answer - Gary Jablonski: The major difference is the screen size. MyFord is a 4" screen without touch capabilities. MyFord Touch is an 8" screen and navigation is only available on MyFord Touch.

If you want the upgraded Sony 10 speaker stereo you have to get an SEL with MyFord Touch. The way they package the options is how they get you.

Thanks guys, that is a huge help. Both system seem nice. I love the My ford touch idea, but, to get it I must give up Stick Shift! The SEL is auto only. Have to decide if giving up the Manuel is worthwile for me. Still, both system seem like they are nice features. I am comparing the Focus with Fiesta. No myford with the Fiesta, so, I'm taking are harder look at the Focus.

It's true, it's very unfortunate that we all have to give up the manual to receive all these bells and whistles. The question you should ask yourself is why you want to buy this car. I understand the thrill of driving the stick, but personally, I need/want a car with a lot of features, descent performance (maybe), but fantastic handling and relatively good fuel economy.

In the end, I doubt that you could go wrong with any of the Focus trim levels.
