Any Zetec cover from a Contour will work? Are there any special parts I would need to get (pcv valve, etc.)?

As far as I know, as long as they came out of a Zetec, Massive reclaims these valve covers and turns them into these:

You can paint the plastic one with no problem and it will stay just fine as long as you prep properly and use a good paint. I know from experience. A metal one from a contour would be nicer and could hold up a little better. Metal also allows you to powder coat it which is the best. I have 2 covers I need to powder coat.

So proper prep + high temp paint = decent valve cover? I'd love to get one of those massive speeds, but I think this will hold me down until then

yea make sure you use higher temp paint and primer , as the valve cover will get hot . and as for longevity , its because of the temperature extremes it deals with , cold = coldest day outside , Heat , hotest the oil gets. Paint doesn`t like those extremes , but as a interim thing , go for it. Make sure to throw up a pic when its done . id like to see it.

I chose Ford blue for the color. I had a $25 O'Reilly gift card laying around so now I just need to order the new gasket. Also got some Nite-shade

i use nightshade myself , as i don`t have a choice in canada , good stuff.

and the other stuff will work nicely , make sure to clean the valve cover
