What is a "count"?

I have a general idea of what it is, but I want to be sure. I'm assuming it's relative to the ECU clock speed, basically the sample per unit time the MAFS or other device updates.

What I'd like to know is what one count equals? (unit time if that's possible)
Is there a list of priorities these count's are multiplied or divided by? (as in, the MAFS has a higher priority than the ECT/CHT therefore the count #'s will be higher)

Reason I ask is, if I know what a count equals or is I'm quite sure I can understand and competently adjust everything else. It's basically the only thing that's throwing me for a loop.

*looks at MTF

I see.
And 1 count = 0.0049

But that doesn't explain what a ...

Oh I think I get it now. For my CHT to ECT swap I just have to alter counts converted to voltage, which I know. <-- talking to myself
