knocking on decelleration
Hi all this is my first post here
I'm driving a 2006 2.0 TDCI with 6 speed manual gearbox whilst driving the other day on engaging the clutch to go over a speed bump there was an almighty "BANG" I stopped the car to see if anything had fallen off nothing seen. I then drove off changing gear was no problem with no noise or any other problems until i lifted off the accelerantor and i can hear a knocking from what i believe to be the left hand side this is the only time i get a noise the gear change is smooth and the car is silent at tickover and even when the throttle is blipped no nusual noise can be heard and no noise is heard with the clutch pedal up or down Any help woulg be greatfully received Thanks Harry |

check and see if you maybe have bent something. Maybe when you let off the pedal and the engine shifts it is now hitting something that got bent into the path of the engine and it only hits it on Decel.

have a look round the engine and gear box mounts to see if there is any brakages there, or check where the ball joints and drop-links are.
i had a simmilar sounding fault with an old car, and i thought the engine had fell out!!!, turned out it was just a top mount that had snapped!!, not a big deal, thankfuly, hope this helps anyway...... |
