Well, the answer to your question kinda depends on your definition of "start" and "finish." Technically, and I don't know for sure, but a single 2012 Focus probably doesn't take more than a day to build. I think the Wayne plant is pumping them out by the dozens per day. Emerill probably has more accurate figures, but I'm pretty sure they're moving through that assembly line rather quickly.
But if you're defining "start & finish" as order date and delivery date, then, obviously you're looking at a significantly longer and much more variable timeframe.
They are turning out >1000 cars a day at Wayne, not sure the exact number at this point, as they keep ramping up production.
Something like >95% of cars rolling off the line right now will ship from the factory within 2-3 days. I believe the window sticker date is the day it rolls off the line, so it should be on a truck/train within a few days of that.
Delivery times are a mixed bag. Since I live so close to the factory, delivery is usually only ~2-4 days after the build date (and of course I'm leaving the country for a week 4 days after my build date
), but somebody in CA might wait >2 weeks for transit. Once the car is prepped for shipment (passed QA) then Ford should issue a delivery estimate that takes in to account rail and truck schedules.
