Interesting - I pre-ordered Feb 2. Should be getting one. I am worried that my Sales rep is 105 years old and doesn't use email. I haven't gotten and ford emails or anything...

I just emailed ford corporate. They seem to respond very well within a day or two. Last time i emailed them asking for an update they called my dealer and chewed them out for not keeping me in the loop. Its getting closer - two maybe three weeks - build date is 4/26/11 - I am not sure how long my 2000 civic hatch is going to last. The manual window crank just broke, so i can't roll my window down.

Funny! Its 90 here, I would die.

All our cars will be more or less coming down the line at the same time. So the cars will know each other before we ever do lol...FocusFest 11 or 12 will be a grand reunion for the assembly-line-mates

Well, the answer to your question kinda depends on your definition of "start" and "finish." Technically, and I don't know for sure, but a single 2012 Focus probably doesn't take more than a day to build. I think the Wayne plant is pumping them out by the dozens per day. Emerill probably has more accurate figures, but I'm pretty sure they're moving through that assembly line rather quickly.

But if you're defining "start & finish" as order date and delivery date, then, obviously you're looking at a significantly longer and much more variable timeframe.

Happy waiting!

They are turning out >1000 cars a day at Wayne, not sure the exact number at this point, as they keep ramping up production.

Something like >95% of cars rolling off the line right now will ship from the factory within 2-3 days. I believe the window sticker date is the day it rolls off the line, so it should be on a truck/train within a few days of that.

Delivery times are a mixed bag. Since I live so close to the factory, delivery is usually only ~2-4 days after the build date (and of course I'm leaving the country for a week 4 days after my build date ), but somebody in CA might wait >2 weeks for transit. Once the car is prepped for shipment (passed QA) then Ford should issue a delivery estimate that takes in to account rail and truck schedules.

Also forgot to add - the dealer has to prep your car after they get it - it doesn't ship quite ready for delivery to the customer. Most dealers won't be ready to hand over the car until a day or so after they get it - especially if there are any dealer installed options, like remote start or scuff plates. There is somewhere that you can try and butter up your sales person to get it a priority spot in the prep shop :)

It's still 30 degrees where I am. Thank goodness, as I won't see the car for probably three weeks.

Yea, I have a feeling we will be in Kerrville Tx. for a Thunderbird Event when mine gets to the dealer. It may be a welcome home present when we get back to Fla.

If your around that part of Tx. around May 11 to the 15 you may see 50+ Retro T-Birds running around. That would be 02 to 05 cars.
