I ordered in September 28, got the vin number today Oct 5

VIN 9.27
Sticker 10.5
Build date 10.11 (right? 120111011 on the sticker)

Hello I'm new to the forum, I ordered September 14. Haven't heard anything else about a vin or build day. I emailed my dealer today, no answer yet.

I am in the same boat - Ordered Sept 5th and no VIN, no build date?? SEL that is candy red metallic??

Any idea what is taking so long??

Willtrvl and Jpierce, ask your dealer/ sales manager for a copy of the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) - if a VIN's been assigned by Ford then it will be on there when they go to pull it up (I was getting the brush off from mine and when I insisted that they send me the DORA and not the VOC (vehicle order confirmation) then sure enough there was my VIN only 3-4 days after the order had been placed).

I'm not saying that yours has been assigned but a lot of times your dealer just doesn't want to bother (to do the legwork, they'd rather be making more sales/commissions).

Yeah, that is WAY WRONG (and way long). Long ago in June when I ordered mine, I ordered on a Saturday. My salesguy submitted the order the following Monday and had a DORA on Tuesday. Ford wants to enter the orders as quickly as possible as it will be a sale. Like NorthernFocalPoint said, press your dealership, make sure your salesperson is not just being lazy. No reason for either of you not to have at least that yet.

Ordered mine Sept 21. Titanium, Hatch, 401A, Tuxedo Black.

Mine is on a "material hold", probably for the metallic flakes used in the Tuxedo Black. It's made in Japan, and they are just ramping up production next week.

It could be the reason...I think they use the same metallic flakes in the Candy Red Metallic...don't quote me...but I think they are linked.
