That sounds awesome! I'm not going to get too excited though, as dealers have told me some rather hilarious things (i.e. Ford doesn't make a hatchback ), and I'd rather hear this from someone on the inner circle. Emerrill...does this sound right?

This is what I'm hearing from multiple places, but I haven't heard back from one of my really trusted sources yet. Given everything I've seen though, I'm calling it 95% true that they have cleared MFT to ship. This doesn't necessarily mean it is fixed, they could have decided to release the cars with a known defect, and plan to fix them in a later software update.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they'd just release them with a known defect. Poor Ford, it seems they're in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Hold the cars for repairs, and risk people jumping ship to other vehicles (which has been reported at least three times in these forums), or release the Foci with a known defect, and risk a consumer backlash.

I'm stickin' with my Focus, MFT issues or not!

My girl friend and Ford won, I canceled my MT order due for delivery next monday and bought a well equipped AT black Sel.I have driven close to 10 foci's now and the SEL is just a far better car inside than the SE and it only some how cost me $1500 to upgrade with a AT, backup assit and winter package.

I want to thank the fourms and everyone for there help over the last six months.

I confirmed from my sources that they are shipping the car with the MFT defect - they have not remedied it yet. There will be a software update for the vehicles at a later date - so they will have to go in to the dealer (unless they fix it before your car is built).
