I was back into the dealership that day for Llumar ceramic window film install and told the salesperson about the email and had the printed offer page with certificate # on it. He talked to the sales manager and they input the offer in the system and I signed a paper and should be getting the $750 in 4-6 weeks!
PS - Also got $500 off for Ford finance and they told me I have to pay on it for 3 months before I pay it off, but like others in this thread it says nothing in the contract about that and says no prepayment penalty so I'm paying it off as soon as I get the payment info.
So the dealer did you a favor, did the work to finance the car which gave you an extra $500, then did you another favor and helped you save another $750 for a total of $1250. You say you were very happy with the service the dealer provided you and then you are going to pay the car off as quickly as possible which will prevent the dealer from getting that $500 savings that they passed along to you?
I have seen many threads with this going on and it's kind of frustrating - dealers are essentially fronting you money that they will not receive for 3 months. If the buyer pays off all they financed except 3 months worth of payments they would only be paying a small portion of that $500 back in interest and the dealer would get their kickback - everyone wins.
Eventually dealers are going to stop fronting money to purchasers and then everyone's going to be mad at the dealers.
