To each his own.
That seems way lean to me also. Surprised a piston hasn't melted in a 5th gear pull on a circuit track.

Curious to know what the EGT's are?

There is nothing new about trying a leaner AF ration for the Focus , Please remember that I have been tuning the Boosted Focus for 10 years now I have tried ever AF ration under the sun , Does a leaner mix make more power sure it does to a point then you are in the range of hurting an engine

Please also keep in mind that the people here beating on there chest about leaner is better rarely have there cars in 4th and 5th gears and rarely take them to track events or to road race events where they actually have to see what there cars will do with there leaner conditions

I did the Fun Ford Weekends for years and did all 10 events in a year where I was doing 25 to 30 1/4 mile passes in 2 days by choise because thats where I did my testing , I also had yearly events where we would pay to go to Virginia International Raceway 3.2 miles of hard running in 5th and 6th gear , Road Atlanta

None of the guys talking about going leaner have done anything close to that they hipe there HP and how things are better going leaner and might go to the track 1 time a month and do 2 or 3 passes I would bet if that

I can go to low to mid 12`s with the AF sitting on the dyno and daily driving it with no issues like I use to do even go to the track and do a pass or 2 with no issue helps more when its cool out but I have found that going to the high 10`s it looses very little HP/TQ and the engine is much much safer

I am all for new things , I work now days just to read and find new things to try or test its why I kept the Dyno , Lets just make it something new and not something thats been tested to death 10 years ago

13.1 is nothing new and in my opinion shouldnt be done , I would still like to know what AF TS uses for NA if they use 31.1 for boost

Because the term "safe" is so relative and means something different to most people, maybe you guys should state it in the context of which it is being used. For instance, 12.5 might be pretty safe for say 5-10 drag passes in the 1/4 mile but might not be safe for a 30 minute road course with 90+ degree weather conditions. It is obvious that a lot of tuners base their AFR on what the car is being used and I think that should also be mentioned to clear up a lot of confusion.

I dont see any confusion, my AFR is fine for the track, road coarse, and daily driving.

That's great but you aren't the one running 13.1 either. Compared to what TS is running, YOU are pig rich......lol

I tune dozens of FI Focus and it is very hard to tell what there going to be used for so I go to the safe side on everyone , I have found that safe to me and for my customers is in the 10.8 range and at 10.8 there is little to no loss in power that I have seen on the dyno
