So now your saying that 12.3 is a safe AF with boost ?

Roushturboedzx3 , How many Foci Have you tuned ? NONE yet your trying to give advise on whats safe to run

AF ration has nothing to do with who tunes the car AF ratio is AF ratio and has little to do with the rest of the tune , Its AF Ratio were talking about here

You claimed this was at 360HP and I asked about 10.8 AF so you claim to of gained 20hp at the wheels with going from 10.6 to 11.5 , First let me say that the leaner the engine the more power you make but the trade off is your also making the engine less safe

Second , to go from a 10.6 to 11.5 is almost 1 FULL point of AF and to only gain 20 HP tells me that 10.6 was not that far off of a good SAFE # and you are pushing the AF vs engine safety

3rd as you run the Zetec engine harder and longer the AF will creep to the leaner side which makes the engine even more borderline and this has nothing to do with who tunes it

Octane makes it safer on the timing side but does little for the AF

Just because i dont tune my own car doesnt mean i dont know what a good AFR is. Ive been to a bunch of tuners including you. and yes AFR does have effect on who tunes the car and how they do it.

Made a little over 20whp more but it didnt sacrifise any safety factory, I am not pushing any safety boundaries, my shit is super safe and i beat the living shit out of the car, and not just one or two WOT pulls, even done some thru 5th, ik not safe but i had a good reason too. and guess what its perfectly fine. a efficient setup the AFR shouldnt change enough to make it unsafe but you dont know about that

One of the big plus's for me was that when you pay for Toms remote tune you get free updates. As in my situation i completely changed my whole turbo setup basically and when i put the new setup on i didnt have to pay the 450-550 to have my setup tuned again i just got on aim with Tom and we started tuning. Toms really easy to get ahold of if you ever have any questions or if you need anything looked over or changed. The drivability on my car is spot on, litterally runs like a stock car just with more power ;), Also I can tell you on my car Tom tune has been really good, every monday, wednesday, saturday, and sunday night it literally gets beat the crap out of and its still together ( somehow lol ) but i will not be going to another tuner.

You have sure changed your mind about how tom like to tune haven't you???

I've ran everywhere from 12.2 to 10.0 and my car ran the best around 11.1.

One other thing you guys need to keep in mind is the amount of power your making and the capacity of the fuel system you run. When on a more stock fuel system I've noticed that in the higher gears you can make your AFR start to climb due to the pumps inability to keep up with demand. I've also watched my AFR go up when I went to VIR due to the excessive ass kicking the motor was taking (along with the insane amount of heat you can generate in 30 minutes on a 3.3 mile long circut)

I agree 03OrangeSVT 11.1 seems to be the sweet spot on the Zetec , I shoot for the 10.8 to give that added safety and little to no loss in power

And yes I also have seen the AF go up on long hard pulls yet another reason to shoot for high 10`s on the AF then when running hard you right where you should be

Did Randy tune the car for you? I thought he generally tuned for in the 11.5-8 range.
