today on the L.I.E. service road
this morning i was on the long island expressway service road going to werk and i notice there's a grey zx3 behind me. (we've raced before while going to work in the morning a few weeks ago) So we hit the red light at shelter rock road and I'm in the left lane and there's some old dude in the right lane and he's in the left turn only lane...but being that we've raced before I knew he was going to go straight and launch hard and make a run. So we go on green and i jump on him, some car at the intersection makes the right on his red and get infront of me. I foolishly let off the gas and go around him (road was wet - dangerous and dumb thing to do, i admit it) and get back on the gas then something weird happened...does the 2.3 have a revlimiter or something? 'cuz it was as if my engine just went into neutral for a second or something, i down shifted and managed to catch him and crawl past him. got to about 80 before we got to the next red light. it was crappy shifting on my part, road was damp and the car was in my way and i totally over reved...just never had that happen to me before. I don't know if it was a 2.0 or a 2.3 or what, had exhaust, sounded kinda growley so it might have had an intake but i have no way of knowing, and blue underglow. A few weeks earlier, our first encounter he was behind me at the same red light and I didn't know he wanted to race, green comes and i go as normal and he flys past me, gets 2 or 2.5 car lenghths in front of me and then i blew past him. he seems like a cool guy, both times he gave me a big huge thumbs up...must be happy to "meet" and race another modded focus owner. which is refreshing 'cuz when i stomp a civic or something else like that i ususally get ignored at the next red. soar losers. modded foci are kinda rare these parts which i like and hope it stays that way. anyways, just thought I'd share.

the duratec easily breaks the tires loose (with RSAs aka "screamin' eagles") and it will just peg the redline and bounce in water, even with like half throttle in first gear..

Yes the 2.3L has a rev limiter.
