Any signs to look for to know if car has Stock tune or not?

Hey guy just wondering if there was any way to detect if my svt has an aftermarket tune or not. Previous owner seemed to think that was a possibility but I cant honestly tell. what should I look for? thanks for your help in advance

I would think the only way to know is with a tuner device such as the sct or diablo or something like that.

well if I dont have one or have a few houndred bucks to buy one just to test it, are there any other ways?

I mean it's kind of hard to say. A tune will generally bring your idle up a little, the stock idle is around 850-900rpms, if it's above that (once warmed) it could be tuned. Tom, username 1turbofocus maybe can help you out. He is the tune guy around here, he might have more answers than the regular folks. :-p

Well ... it's actually not to hard.

When you first start your car with out a tune it idles high to get the temps up and then comes down once it's warmed up.
If you have a tune the car will jump to it's tuned position and stay there, give or take 100rpms.

Mine idles at 900 with a tune and goes straight there even cold. Before I had the tune, the car would idle up close to 1200-1500 to warm up the car then come back down.

Thanks sounds easy enough.. now that I think about it my car idles real high when I get in so i guess im not that lucky to already have one.

When getting a tune would I have to buy the flash thing and then send it to Tom or what? really interested in getting a tune but might be a month or so til I have the means to do so.

You can go to his website, or find him on the sponsor forums and shoot him a message. Believe you can order a tuner pre-loaded with a tune from him, he'll mail it etc. once it's installing if you add any mods he will change them via e-mail. which is unbeatable imo.

My car jumps to 1500 or so when cold with a tune so I'm not sure that's a fool-proof test.
