Autocross Tires-FOCUS SVT
Hello, I am new to SCCA Solo; I have a 2003 Ford Focus SVT with stock 17" rims. I run in H-Stock and want to put some Hoosier A6 on my stock rims. Does anyone know what the largest size tire that will fit without rubbing on anything? My stock tire size is 215/45-17 Thanks

I believe that's the size you should go for. Any wider on 17s will rub. The height I believe is just right ... if you go up 5mm to 50 ... you will have fun finding your shift points.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hoosier only makes a 225/40-17,225/45-17 or a 245/40-17. I was wondering which of those sizes might fit from someone who has used a stock 17" rim in autocross. I agree there is not much room to play with. Thanks again!

Hmm ... I am not very knowledgeable on the Hoosiers ...
I have 225 width on 16s ... and at the moment don't rub ... but let's see what the experts on hoosiers say on this. -Ray-

i would think a 245 would rub. i know some people rub with 225 but thats a much safer bet.

hoosiers run wider than most.
225/40/17 is what i would run. but you may still rub on the elovation changes.

Check out Kumho V710s. They are arguably as good as the A6s. Not sure if they have the size you're looking for, but it's a shot.
