get the Kumho Ecsta V710's if $$ is an issue but it's still a great tire.

as for a street tire at 140 the general concusses around here is the hankook rs3. but there are plenty of other good one too.

from what ive understood the V710s supposedly last a bit longer than the A6's but I personally have experience with neither

good idea, not only to get a feel, but to break them in. you need to get the "oil" they use for the mold off of the tread.

anyway. i ran 6 events last year, my first season. sooo i have experience, but i cant stay out of last on my current tires. everyone in my regions running on upgrades. that is why i need new tires. my best event was a 51.7, while everyone else was at a 48.9. or around there.

I've also heard the 710 lasts a little longer. Thanks for the feed back. I need to decide if I will run a DOT tread tire like the RS3 or the A6-710s. We don't start racing in this area till late March so I can't say I'll provid any feed back soon.

With a cheap set of rims, like these.

* i was going for a lighter set, and i do like these. plus the weigh like 4 lbs less than stock.

6 events may feel like a lot, but 6 years is more like it.
i bet if you put some of those faster drivers in your car and you drove theirs, you would still be in last. i'm not trying to discourage you, but i'm walking proof of this. and i'm sure others are as well.
buuuut if you want the best street tire for autocross get the RS3s, if you want the best race tire for autocross get the A6, simple.

For that price ... I would go Rota. Much lighter for the same cost.

Nope ... the SVT can hit 16" rims just fine. There are some that are 16x7 with a 40/45+ offset. The 17s are nice, but I have learned having 16s are even better for racing with the SVT.

Which the SVT can handle.

Then you just find good tires.
