RPM's Bounce with A/C on?

So I just bought a used 2009 Ford Focus SES coupe with 72k miles on it and I love it! not a big thing i guess but i noticed that when I turn the A/C on, after awhile the Idle like when i'm at a stoplight it kinda pulses up and down, from normal idle to down a few hundred rpm then back up. Then when i drive it seems fine. Also when i turn the A/C off car idles fine. Anyone have this similar problem or ways to correct this? Thanks

Have your battery and alternator tested

okay i'll have to do that. Do you think it could be a problem with my Idle Air Control Valve? I've been trying to research this problem too but some others peoples situations haven't quite matched up with mine haha

I'd lean towards the Idle Air Control valve my self. You can take it off and try cleaning it before buying a new one. Sometimes they get gunked up.

HERE is the how to for cleaning the Zetec one, it'll help you see what you need to do. I know you don't have a Zetec just posting this for the tips it has in it.
