That's a good idea. I always wondered what happens to the integrity of the hood after holes are cut into it. I have modified the hoods of both Focus's I've owned to install NACA ducts, and was concerned with that and the bend points upon impact.

I'm custom making the grills, I'm buying the woven mesh through a race shop and then having it powdercoated. It should match the front and lower grills.

The nice thing about these scoops is that they don't go through many of the structures even though they are huge. With the welding and these scoops being sealed it I don't think there will be any structural problems.
