trusty old focus finally getting a makeover

So I bought my zx3 new in 03. It's had a rough life. I bought it for my wife when she was like 19 or 20 and she played bumper cars with it a few too many times. Bent a rim, folded the door back against the front fender, hit a Cadillac, got hit in the target parking lot, and the my brother backed into it and hit it with his trailer hitch.
So fast forward 11 years, two kids, and 185k miles. I decided I love the car more now than when I bought it new. I hate car payments and being young all those years ago I paid way to much money for the car. Being older and wiser I'm getting every penny or of her. So since I'm keeping her "forever" I think she should look good. So here is my progress.

I had a before pic but someone stole my phone. because people are stupid and the phone is too.. but thats another story for another day..[IMG][/IMG]

So about two weeks before the planned start date a hail storm came through. So lucky for me the work load doubled. I also need to say at the start of this thread My close friend Robert has been doing all the elbow grease. I've been out of town with work (which I'm through with now). so I'm going to get in and get my hands dirty now. Robert and I met working in a hot rod shop about 15 years ago. we both made professional carriers out of painting, I went with cabinetry and specialty house painting and he stayed with autbody. though I'm good with body work and painting he is far better. so heres where we're at[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

these photos are a couple weeks old at the last stage. right now its about all final sanded and should see some color going on this weekend or next. Body will be two toned black on top factory french blue on bottom. I will be splitting it at the window molding. so the entire quarter panel, door, hood, fender, hatch will be blue. roof and "a" pillars will be black. I have an f2 spoiler that will be black to match the roof. tail lights and turn signals will be smoked out to flow with the windows and roof. Headlights will be lightly smoked. smoked third led brake light installed. I wanted to shave the door handles and smooth off the tailgate. but decided to keep it simple. windows were professionally tinted 11 years ago and are starting to loose that crisp look so I'm going to pull it all off and have it redone. limo black on the back three and legal limit on the front (maybe)

FYI Taillights will be "smoked with a dupont clear/ Black mixture. finish sanded then cleared. I purchased an aftermarket set of taillights on the BST forum. I'm going to tint both factory and aftermarket taillights and sell the set I don't go with. so those will be in the sale section in a couple three weeks. I'm switching alll the lights over to ultra bright LEDS

Progress is looking great! Wish I knew how to do my own body work. That is definitely a good skillset to have.

Thanks guys. I'm so stoked! It should look really good when it's done. I'm thinking of ordering the steeda 1.5 drop springs. I'm in Kansas city so My plan is to drive her to FF14. Hopefully it's all done
