does anyone else with a short shifter or the steeda short shifter have trouble getting into fourth? it just a problem, mostly when downshifting, every now and then. Just curious

It's happened to me 2 or 3 times over my 9 month period of having it installed on my focus. Each time, I was racing and shifted from 3rd to 4th and it missed 4th. It was really annoying. But I don't think it has anything to do with the Steeda.

I have ZERO problem finding any gear with my STEEDA STS. Not sure what else to add to this, did you zip tie off your wiring harness under the shifter linkage like the instructions said? Maybe you got some 'rubbing' issues that are causing the 4th gear to be out of alignment or something like that.

nope, but has anyone had the shifter for a while? i am wondering if it "breaks in" or gets looser? just wondering. and 4th isnt like straight down, its more like a lil to the right and down. but if anyone can tell me if it breaks in at all? b/c it is a good workout to shift

I have had mine in my car for 4-5 months now.... it does break in, gets looser for sure. My 4th gear is straight down from 3rd on my car, not to the right or anything like that. Did you use ALL the grease that was included with the STS. I put TONS of it in, even looked like I put to much and it was nice and smooth after about a month of driving, maybe little less..... it does break in though.

Ya when you first get it, it will be stiff and needs a little more force to get it into gear. Give it a good 3 months and you'll be loving it. Never had a problem since. Knock on wood.
