Just read in the local newspaper today (Minneapolis Star Tribune) that even IOWA is getting in on the act! No, I'm not knocking IA. A place called Elk Horn, Iowa will have the highest amt of EV charging stations per capita in the whole US! (But that's because the town is pretty small).

Charging stations are for those who are afraid of driving beyond the range of their EV before getting it home. In time, many cities will come to have EV charging stations.

While I think it could be a long time before EV's really catch on, I'm glad to see mfrs (like Ford) making them, and glad to see that infrastructure is being built (even though most folks will likely charge them at home 99% of the time).

This car uses LiIon batts- much lighter than lead acid batts.

Electric vehicles are( can be) quite torquey right off the line. Maybe you're thinking of a golf cart?

Looks like Nat gas and nuclear and oil make power for you in FL

Nothing is oging to kill the oil industry- there are too many uses for oil
( besides gasoline and diesel, there are hundreds of other byproducts).

It's here to stay.

very sick ride but i am gonna stick with my gas powered car i dont have to stop and charge for hours when i can fill up in 5 minutes :)

also.. what happens when you live in an apartment? not all places have outside outlets available (like my apt.), so you would be running an extension cord out your door or window - let's hope you don't live on the top floor!

i still cant see these types of cars making it big at all.. i mean sure if you own a house then you can have one what about the people that live in appts.... run a cord from your front door to your car.. yeah srue.. then im going to unplug it and pug it into my car thanks.. LOL. and as if the place you live is going to install charge stations im sure that will be extra like alot extra.. unless there is a massive shift then these are still not worth the trouble..

and if you dont have a back up car i dont see you doing any camping or long trips. so no matter what you will have a gas car... the only way around this and the timing is sooooooo jacked up right now is a super small nuke power plant for a veh. I cant remember but its Apple or Microsoft has been buying or in the works for getting small nuke plants to run their complex, if i remember congress is shooting them down, japan and china makes them.

I don't see how you would be saving money. What you save by not going to the pump you will be spending on your electric bill. Unless Electricity becomes free of charge this isn't going to save anyone any money.
