248,000 Miles, I decided the engine was finally broken in to where i want it, so I started to mod it. valve gasket leak, and 2 leaky thermostats , a bad IAC valve have been the only engine problems. Parts are dirt cheap for these things.

Are you gonna rebuild it or, outsource it?

This thread gives me a lot of hope!

My 2003 ZTS 5 speed has 194,500 miles on her today. As far as I know, original clutch.

Since I've owned her, I have just done regular maintenance. CV axles, thermostat housing, valve cover gasket, plugs, PCV hose and lately the timing belt. No smoke or noises, other than normal Zetec valve train sounds. :)

Drive her 300-400 miles a week, and average 32.5mpg with city and interstate driving. Not the flashiest or fastest car around, but very enjoyable to drive!

This thread is encouraging - I married into an SE wagon that now has 155k and we're hoping it'll last for some time!

Over 400k?!? Man, that's nuts! I'm at 217,000. As far as I know I have the factory clutch. I've replaced the timing belt, plugs and wires, water pump, PCV valve, thermostat and housing, valve cover gasket, front sway bar end links, AC clutch, DPFE sensor, EGR valve, and motor mounts.

I will say that Focuses are lasting a lot longer than Escorts, and way longer than old Pintos!!
