TPS compatibility question 2000 dohc atx

Ran CEL, said Throttle Position Sensor...found out this part is only available as part of throttle body on my car...its available separately for the same year sohc automatic, and for dohc manual. Does anyone know if I could use either of these sensors to replace mine? I would prefer not to shell out $300 for the new throttle body if I can sub a different tps.

There is something funky about the 00 TPS, but I cannot remember what it is exactly. I think you do have to replace the TB and TPS as a unit, but I'm not entirely sure.

Your post is confusing, isn't there more than one option as a result of different build dates? If so, you need to check your build date on the sticker inside the driver's door. If the TPS is available separately for your vehicle, then it should work.
Be eclectic.
