Nobody has said it will blow your motor.

we HAVE said that 80% of the parts in the kit will fail in a short amount of time. depending how many miles you drive a year I would lay money down on the fact that you will spend double the price of the OBX kit replacing the parts that break with name brand high quality parts within the first year.

If you can prove us wrong I applaud you but I dont think your kit will magically be better than any of the other ebay kits the rest of us have already seen.

Notice that the negativity towards these kits is coming from people who already have successfully running turbo cars? every new or about to be turbo owner wants a $1000 turbo kit. then most of us do some research and realize it will cost more to do it wrong and then do it again the right way so we spend the big money up front. The rest of us do it the cheap way. spend more money making it right or sell/scrap the car because we dont have the money to really have a turbo car.

i will never buy aftermarket parts off ebay. The only thing that ebay is good for is finding rare parts for a rare car, and that is still hit or miss. some of the stores are pretty legit but its hard to tell whats good.
Is it bad that I'm actually thinking of how I could reverse engineering a junkyard duratec valvecover, casting it from sand, and then heating it into glass. I have access to a kiln also. A glass valve cover would be sick! I would only make one though, just for me. Maybe one for you too since it was your idea. lol (I'm not actually going to do this but it would be neat to have a glass valve cover)

+ rep for this thread also! It should be a sticky!

Hahaha a glass valve cover would be pretty sick looking to see the cams spinning.

Your obx kit your making may be worthwhile but the point it just that these parts in general suck and that there is A Lot not included and that people are misled. Overall you may save some money, you may not. Depends on the deals you get in quality parts. It's more important than saving a couple hundred overall and all the headaches you'll avoid.

"fits 286" vehicles? Damn I didn't know 286 models had the same placement of parts in the engine! I wish there would be a way to post up comments on peoples sale ads on eBay and point out all the BS they write.

Google and altavista babel fish translators don't work so well eh? Cuz I'm assuming that's what they are using to come up with some of the horrible grammatical errors on all those types of ads lol.

i bet i could make out a couple of lenses and place them in the cover, but it just would not be the same. i am pretty new to the whole flame working game.

how hot does sand need to be to make glass? i can melt glass but i never tried sand.

Haha same here, but today I am stressed and just got pissed after seeing a thread. There have been a plethora of eBay turbo kit threads and stupid questions asked without research the last two weeks and said I had it and wanted to make a thread where people could see WHY they are crappy.

Btw I might sell your manifold to a chinese on eBay so he can mass reproduce it ;).

JK. Love the manifold!
