Replace you stock upper mounts with new stock upper mounts and your car will be much quieter. I have no noticeable vibrations with the lower trans mount and no ballance shaft.

You guys are probably technically right with new bolts, loc-tites, etc, I just have a hard time getting too excited about reusing a bolt and putting red lock tight on it. I can't count the number of times I've removed and reinstalled certain bolts on my truck, particularly in high stress areas such as the suspension. Opinion that I'm already expecting backlash on: bolts are meant to re-used, if its not designed to be re-used then it was designed shittly.

Ok yeah thats what I've done, new stock upper mounts and vibration / noise problems were solved.

Their just not ARP, they stretch.

You want to re-use them, go ahead, let us know how it works out for you.

I replace the Fly Whl bolts with the used ones that cam out , I dont use locktite and have done this on hundreds of Focus , Zetec , SVT , Duratec engines and never had one brake the bolts or come loose

But like Smokey said "If it makes you feel better do it"

Tom

Tom I've seen quite a few shops just reuse the old bolts before with no problems and, while fine and dandy it's good practice to replace them while your there. Just like the water pump when doing a t-belt. It's not necessary but it's good practice to do it since your right there. I'm sure those who have dropped a flywheel bolt probably didn't have it torqued down correctly? Or lets put it this way, if Ford dealerships don't carry them in stock then do they put new ones in? Probably not. This subject is starting to feel like the old debate which came first the Chicken or the Egg debate?

Personally, I'd buy new ones, but that's just me.

Tom

I believe you, I've only been told by one member way back that it is a must. So it's not too hard for me to believe it was shit.

but it does make me feel better knowing I did replace them. Even better now knowing I didn't have to.

That's how I feel, it's the peace of mind, even if it isn't needed.
