I thought it was good for a debut episode. The guys were ok, gonna take awhile to figure out their personalities. I seriously dont understand how some people can think of the UK guys as some idols, they are a bunch of idiots to be honest. Clarkson is witty at times and his dry sense of humor is mildly amusing, but the other two are just lame. Not to mention I couldnt care less about 80% of the cars they drive since they will never be offered here and I will never drive one. Who cares

When the premiere show ended, I had a familiar reaction to the TGUK to TGUS translation. It was just about how I felt at the debut of the US (Drew Carey) version of "Who's Line is It, Anyway." A lot of character that had become a familiar part of the UK original had been lost in translation, and the US version felt flat for awhile.

What struck me is that, the audience was really quite. Like they (producers) went to the street and pleaded ( or paid) folks to come in just so they would have an audience. Anyway, it just struck me that they had no clue what the show was about or why they were there. Second, the hosts were very wooden and forced. I thought it was fairly obvious they were uncomfortable, and per my 1st comment, the audience wasn't giving them any sort of feedback. One thing I thought was missing was that, while tanner explained the concept of the show, the hosts did not introduce themselves, and why they belong as a host. So while I am somewhat familiar with Tanner Foust, I will simply refer to the other hosts as "the two fat guys". Tanner did OK, loose the two fat guys and try again with some credible people. Long as I'm on the subject, I think they should take a good look at that Australian NASCAR driver (also gives the intro's to V8 supercars...name???). He can drive, he has an outgoing personality, and he can be funny.

The following things bugged me:
The very stiff hosts..granted they probably NEVER worked together before
The lack of challenges..
No common mans car...
The audience..
*the stigs lack of weird music while testing the cars..lol
I know that it will get better and I will keep watching because it can be a decent show .. but it needs work

IIRC isnt the this sundays show going to be right up Foust's alley. I think the promos showed a lot of drifting.

Ya! I think they should have spent the 1st show on a little character introduction/development. I mean, they could have spent 1 minute with a little skit showing the stig being uncrated (with a British flag stamped on it to highlight the tie-in to the BBC show). Makes me think they don't have any writers worth a damn.

YES to all of what you said..

the stig in a crate would have been funny as hell
but the writing could use work...maybe we should try to apply to work for the show...and spice things up a bit

You guys think they will one day show the focus RS? The american version.

That would be cool, but I think their only going to show high end cars?
