true...the A-10's gun has a 4 mile effective range....so you would be eating lead before you ever heard a damn thing.

With an A10, you'd be eating uranium, not lead................

I would have to say the HH-60H mainly because I work on them and the fact that nothing flies off our boat without us in the air first! Very versatile aircraft!

C-5B Galaxy. Just amazing to watch that thing claw it's way into the sky while making your ear drums scream!
My favorite retired plane is the SR-71. Nothing tops that bad boy. I also dig the U-2 for lasting so long in the fleet and getting to watch them fly over everyday at my old job at Beale.

either the A-10 or the Cobra only because they have both saved my but more than once. have to agree with the SR-71 if it were still active then it would definetly get my vote. Amazing that we were able to do that so many years ago and those records still stand today... that we know of

B-1 Lancer. Looks bad ass when the wings are in swept back position. Carries a bigger payload than the B-52.
Also like the old F-105 Thunderchief (Thud). One of the biggest fighter-bombers ever made. During the Vietnam war, also flew some of the most deadly missions when they would make thier attack runs on ground targets through AA fire and SAMS. Would make a good book or movie. It was also the last design by Alexander Kartveli, the guy who designed the P-47 Thunderbolt. |
