Gotta a ride in my favorite!!

I spent 10 years in the Air Force and got several check rides in combat aircraft. By far my favortite is the A-10 Warthog. When I call in close air support there is nothing more effective than the A-10. Having saved my team many times the old girl ranks number 1. I was lucky enough to get a check ride in an A-10 trainer, don't let that fool you it is still a flying cannon with aircraft parts attached. We hit the gun range in Arizona and did several gun passes. You could not wipe the smile off my face after my eyes came back to focus. That thing has a nasty disposition. Depleted uranium shells and a crazy man at the stick what else can you ask for. A very close second is the AC-130, a round every 2 square inches the size of 2 football fields in one pass, now thats close air support.

I have some pics that WD40 might dig.

And of course, my favorite....the Mitchell.

I like the Warthog. That thing is mean looking. One and only sighting was a fly over at NHMS.

Thanks, I took those when the confederate Air force came to town. I love shooting B&W pics. I have the Ball turret and bomber's roost blown up to huge by large, matted and framed on my wall.

i have to go with the C-130. I work on them though with the airforce so i am little biased towards them but they are probably one of the most versatile Aircraft ever made with more variations then anything on earth. So the C-130 has to be mine.

How many have ever done a combat takoff or landing in a 130? ya know, where you literally fall on the runway... gum doesn't help.
Think back in early 04 I flew from kuwait to colorado in one of the last remaining in theatre c-141... in troop seats, ya know the webbing that kept crawling up your ass. Long trip to say the least and they put the damn toilet pallet at the front of the plane. crawl over everyone to get to it (literally, your knees were interlocked)
