Which part actually lights up green? Is it the LED, the backing (that the led lights up), or the original gauge face transparency?

Reason I ask is, I would like to do white.

The gauge face itself has a green backing that can not be removed. The Electroluminescent panel lights up white, but it has a slight blue hue to it. You would have to replace the gauge face. I'm not sure if it will light up a pure white but it's possible.

Hmm, well without having a set of gauges to look at I don't have any ideas. Does anyone want to let me borrow their gauges so I can try and make some?

Question = have a manual-book that describes removal of inst cluster and it claims that tipping the cluster could cause silicone fluids to leak out of the gauges
is that really possible?? are these open wet gauges ??
in aviation the gauges are fluid filled and sealed airtight
why would ford have fluid filled open gauges??
any info on this would be helpful since I am gonna remove and instal a new inst cluster
thaks danman
