I know! It's still in the trunk. Anyone NOT running a front plate in WI? Any issues? The good thing about this front plate bracket, is that it just drills into the black grill inbetween the slats. Not goin to muck up the white painted surfaces. But still looks way better with no front plate at all!

I've had mine off since September-ish, and have passed by plenty of cops with no stops or other attention. I don't know the exact law, but I've heard if there is no bespoke mounting bracketry for the plate, then it is not required.

BUT, if the cops need an excuse to pull you over, they could probably use that, and try to get you for something else.

So it looks like running a front plate is illegal and could result in a citation. But it's obviously not enforced very thoroughly around here, as I've seen plenty of cars (in addition to mine) running without a front plate. Regular cars, 'sporty' cars, cars with deer damage, all sorts. In any case, I keep mine under the front passenger floormat and screws in the glovebox, and my excuse is "We just had a Focus meet a few days ago". (Which is actually when I took mine off, the September Oshkosh meet!)
