It sucks, been there, done that. Every time you think your car is good or think that you've got an easy project ahead of you, it never is. I've got all the stuff off for my suspension except for the 4 bolts on the rear tops hats, and those were supposed to be the easiest things to take off right away. Nope, I'm on day 3 with them now... I just want to shear them off.

Anyways, just make sure it's the clutch before you start replacing stuff.

That wouldn't work. Your clutch is shot. The gears wouldn't engage.

Haha sorry, bud. I had to give you shit. But lol @ that rant. JDM-MOTHERG-tite-YO ftw. Lmao.

But damn.. how has it gone through 3 clutches already? You're not riding the clutch when you drive are you? I don't get how it could be shot for a 3rd time in less than 50k. That's nuts.

But then again, I guess, my friend's '09 is on it's 3rd tranny in less than 60k. Some Foci were just f'd from the factory, I think.

Gabe, it's probably the clutch master cylinder then, not the clutch itself. I had the same thing happen on my '00, I could shift by floating (rev matching) the gears and not using the clutch, but getting going from a stop was impossible, unless I was already rolling.

damn gabe, ur cars about as bad as mine. I'm still driving the thing, but the other day on the way to work the cabin filled with blue smoke, its burning oil somewhere and scared the shit out of me but i had to get to work so i just kept going! lol

anyway, i stopped by to ask you guys what you think of the order i am about to place, finally got enough $$ to fix my broken exhaust....

for the flex back im going with...

FSWerks Stealth 2.5" Exhaust System - 2000-2011 ZX4/Coupe/Sedan
part # FS022SSQ $449.95
I have the svt header cat & flex already, and oil tube
buying the svt power steering line from tousley next

and im looking at this header wrap on ebay...Yellow Heat Wrap (most of the wiring in the engine is either yellow or being replaced by yellow wires, and the rest of the parts i can mod are being painted either some shade of blue, or if i can get the right mix, massive purple, to go along with the massive parts i plan to add, and the paint job i want for the car in the future)

SO...any comments concerns or questions? am i buying the right parts for an 01 SE with a zetec motor? (fairly sure i am)

unless someone tells me this is the biggest pile of junk ever i'm probably gonna order this within the next day or two, but since i made a poor decision with eibach and you guys pointed me in the right direction, figure i'd post before throwing away $700 foolishly w/out being thorough.

and gabe, hope u get that thing back on the road soon.

yea i drove it home about 20 minutes today by floating, had to run a red left turn arrow though.. didnt even have a choice, had to be done.

i just really wish my car would un-break permanently, its getting to be quite the pain in the ass, and the mitsubishi starion GSR on craigslist is looking AWESOME to me right about now

^^^^^^THIS!!!!!

The plastic rod on the clutch master cylinder likes to break, so that is most likely it. If the clutch itself was shot, it would slip. A clutch master is about an hour job for a noob, or about half hour for someone more experienced.

okay now one question about the master cylinder rod:

if that were to break, wouldnt all the brake/clutch fluid leak out? its full, whatever that means.

thanks for the help and keep it comin please!

When mine went, I don't remember having any fluid leak out.
